The product that needs the stamp is placed under the instrument. The metalized or painted roll-leaf carrier inserted between the two helps in pressing the dye. Stamping of the product's surface happens with dry paint or foil. The dye-stamping process is non-polluting because the materials used are dry. The relevant sections of the foil separate from the carrier material and get attached to the printing surface under pressure and heat.
